C-141B and Soldiers at Point Salines Air Port

Home | Next

It's Saturday morning and we've just gotten off the plane from Pope Air Force Base at Point Salines (say Suh-lean-es) in Grenada.  Tommy Rowe is the one in the picture holding two weapons, one in each hand.  One is his and the other is mine.  Behind the plane on the far right we can see the Air Force forklift that has already begun to remove the huge pallets of supplies from the aircraft.  The supplies are tied down with a net of yellow and green nylon webbing.

As soon as we got off the plane guys were dropping their rucksacks and pulling out cameras and sun tan lotion.
